Throttle valves are governed by the Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) system enabling finer actuation and precise control.
The MT-09 features an advanced, lightweight aluminum frame refined to showcase the MT's signature agility. To ensure both straight-line stability and handling performance, the balance of longitudinal, lateral and torsional rigidity are all carefully considered and finely tuned. The MT-09 features an advanced six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that matches the base performance of proven IMU in the YZF-R1 Superbike. Data collected from the IMU and wheel speed sensors enable a high-tech suite of rider aids including a four-mode Traction Control System (TCS), Slide Control System (SCS), front wheel Lift Control System (LIF) and a two-mode Brake Control System. Each of these systems can be turned off and Traction Control, Slide Control and Lift Control can have their levels of intervention adjusted to preference. A full-color five-inch TFT display provides the rider with the option of four different themes to suit specific riding situations or individual preference.
